Bungalow

In Singapore, a bungalow refers to a detached house, meaning it's a standalone property that isn't physically connected to any other buildings.

There's also a specific category of bungalows called Good Class Bungalows (GCBs). These are considered the most prestigious type of landed housing in Singapore and come with even stricter requirements:

  • Larger land size: The minimum land area for a GCB is 1,400 square metres.

  • Location: GCBs are typically found in exclusive areas designated by the URA.

Semi-detached house

A semi-detached house is a single-family dwelling that shares one common wall with another house.

  • Construction: They are typically built in pairs, mirroring each other's layout.

  • Land ownership: Each semi-detached house has its own land title and ownership.

  • Appearance: Though some variations exist, they often have a similar appearance due to the mirrored design.

  • Cost: Generally, semi-detached houses are less expensive than detached houses due to the shared wall but offer more space and privacy compared to terraced houses.

Terrace house

terrace house is a row of at least three houses connected by common walls on both sides.

  • Minimum Units: Unlike some general definitions, Singapore's URA specifies that a true terrace house development must have at least three units in a row.

  • Variations: There can be some variation in size, with two types of terrace houses defined by URA:

    • Type 1: These are typically larger, with a minimum plot size of 150 square metres and a plot width of 6 metres.

    • Type 1 Corner: Corner terrace houses offer more space, requiring a minimum plot size of 200 square metres and a plot width of 8 metres.
